Testimonies of Healing

The healings we publish are verified by people who can vouch for the testifier or who know of the healing. Examples of Christian healing from individuals and families around the world have been published in the Christian Science periodicals for well over a century.

The most recently-published testimonies are at the top.

As I prayed, I thought about the David and Goliath idea from my morning walk: that God’s spiritual man couldn’t go down to battle with matter. This spiritual light broke through the dark claims of a limited, material view.
As I persisted in turning to God, I began to pray with the understanding that it is divine Mind, God, that governs, and since Mind is the only cause, there is no other cause.

From Church

The demand for church

I like to think of each church that grows up in a community as that community's answered prayer for the presence of the saving Christ—the message of God's love for humanity.

Healing of internal pain

I bowed my head and listened for an angel message from God. What happened next was a rehearsal of all the healings I had experienced in my life. One after another they came to thought.

Deep wound healed

The law of God had overruled any supposed physical laws about man conflicting with material objects, overruled physiology—the notion that man is made of flesh and blood—and overruled the thought that man can be cast off, severed, from his God, from Love itself.

Injured toes restored

I reasoned that my God-given substance was the substance of an idea, and must be as invulnerable as God is.
I am very grateful to God, who, in the words of the Psalmist, “brought me up also out of an horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock” (Psalms 40:2).

Saved from drowning

As I yielded to the conviction that we were actually safe in the loving care of our divine Father-Mother, a great calm came over me.
I continued diligently pondering the depth of each name for God, letting my consciousness be filled with the endless good qualities they express. As I let these qualities envelop me, I felt an even deeper sense of God’s presence, and along with it, an inner calm.
When my mom came home, my dad pointed to me and at the top of his voice told her, “That child healed me.”
I returned on the second day at the base hospital to complete the reserve weekend, where my doctor friends were incredulous. We spent the day talking about Christian Science and how prayer heals.
I thought of Mary Baker Eddy’s definition of “the proof of healing” as “a sweet and certain sense that God is Love” (Science and Health, p. 569). I really felt that sweet and certain sense of the presence of Love with me.
The fear began to fade, and my prayers gained strength and momentum. My trust in God’s constant, tender care reassured me that nothing could harm me.
