The child within

She was somewhere under tenoutside playing in the yardwhen something went amiss,so she quickly went inside,passing her mom busy in the kitchen,to her room where she threwherself on the bed and silentlyasked God to help her do better.
My to-do list outran the page but then I penned what God has done and it became a volume.
In the morning I will listenFor the stillness of Your voice,And I know that You will give meAll the grace and calm and poiseI will need throughout the dayTo face the world and all its noise,As I listen in the morningFor the stillness of Your voice.
