My Garden

My consciousness a garden is,Wherein the seeds of Love are growing;Where opening buds of promise sweetGrow full and free, in beauty blowing.

Answered Prayer

Dear loving, all-wise Father, when I prayLet me not with my feeble sense of goodOutline my needs or think to plan my way;Thy guidance must be better understood—More wisdom, Lord, must be my prayer today.

The Valiant Heart

That valiant heart, which has the vision clearTo gain from earthborn taints a glad release,Will heart the music that no ear can hearAnd sing the silent song of joy and peace.
A refuge in my hour of woe,Dear Father, Thou hast given me;A sheltered place where I may goTo have communion sweet with Thee.

Love's Bounty

Divine Love

O Love divine,Thou wonder of eternity,Thy light thrones high above the heavens;Thy depths are all-unsearchable;Thy sacredness doth hush the senses, self-beset;Thy patience tireth not, nor frowns;Thy strength lags not, nor is it spent in vain.

Our New Hymnal

I walked within a garden fair,And talked with Him;I fought a valiant battle there,My eyes were dimWith grateful tears; each page I tookAs mine, for thus my lovely bookWas pointing me to upward look.

THE brown earth breaks.

"Yet I will rejoice"

THOUGH the fig tree shall not blossom, And the vines no fruit shall yield; Though the olive bear no fruitage, Neither meat be in the field; Though the flock from fold be absent, And no herd be in the stall; "Yet I will rejoice," with singing, Knowing naught but God, as All.

A Shepherd's Song

White on the waking hills I oft have seen— Where half delays the starred and peaceful night— The cloudy sheep pass softly into light, Like hawthorn drifted on the lovely green; And in that hour have breathed Thy tenderest name: Good Shepherd! go before, and guide Thy lamb.
