The Free Gift

Freely ye have received, so freely give—Thus said the Master, many years ago.

The Oil of Joy

In Thee, O God, abides eternal gladness,The oil of joy for mourning, grief, and care;True beauty for the ashes of earth's sadness,The garment of Thy praise for dull despair.

O quiet shelter from the heat of day,Where weary ones athirst may come and drinkThe living waters flowing peacefully,And gain fresh views of how to work and think! And then, refreshed, they sally forth to fightAnew life's battle, primed for victoryO'er every ill that would obscure the sightOf heaven now and here eternally.

Signs of Dawn

As fading beams of waning moon,And rosy hues of morning,Announce to wakening bird and beeA fresh, new day is dawning,So fading dreams of error's night,And gleams of Truth appearing,Reveal to calm and holy faithLove's perfect reign is nearing.

Footsteps of Love

Where walks supernal Love today?

Protection

OH, Thou almighty power above,Who rulest us alone with love,Thou, now and ever, be our guide,Thy wisdom sure, all good betide;May we no error, sin, or painAccept, or falsely entertain; No sorrow, gloom, or sudden fearBe near us while sojourning here;May Thy dear love keep sin away,And lighten for us every day.

Love Here

O singing heart that finds the roadThat leads from night to day,Thy Father sends thee love for light,Thou canst not lose thy way!

Praise

Praise shall ascendLike the voice of the waters.

On Upward Wing

As sings the lark on upward wing,Trilling his joy for all to hear,So would I sing, my Lord and King,Of all Thy love and care.

Receptivity

Twice came the heaven-lit words To heal the plaint of grief: I have formed thee of Myself! My radiant right shone out As instantly as bird-song Pierces night; All earth-tied weights slipped off.
He that dwelleth in the consciousness of good Shall abide beneath the shelter of Love's wings, Safe, in measureless contentment as he sings Of Love's sanctuary, and of Love's beatitude.

Fret Not Thyself

Fret not thyself—Fear not a coming night;Thy home must ever beIn endless light.
