False pride entangled me, my steps were caughtIn web or snare; then, breaking through the dream,Words like Elisha's stirred my inmost thought:"Immerse thyself in Jordan's healing streamFull seven times and cleanse thyself of pride,Self-righteousness, self-will, and arrogance.

THEY KNEW NOT

We were not tallenough to see beyond the somber wallof ignorance and fear.

PRACTITIONER

No need of sculptured marbleTo immortalize your consecrationNor poet's lyric versesTo describe your dedication;Uncounted lives uplifted, brightened,Distresses healed and burdens lightenedBear witness to your selfless love.

PROVED, UNPROVED

Walls:cement, fieldstone, brick,mud, mosaic—allcrumble under history'srelentless millstone.

BREAD
