Poems

Daily I asked God to show me just howI could let my child go.

More than just waiting

Patience, more than just calm waiting, more than suffering throughuntil good comes, patience, like the bud of a rose—beautiful in itself—holds the kingdom of heaven within, turns to face the light of Truth, and blossoms into fullnessas the warmth of God's loveshines upon it.

Where I find God

Through a shaft of moonlight,or sunlight making "diamonds" on the snow,Through a child's bubbling laughteror an adult's quiet glow,Through the satin sheen of a tulip's petal,or a hummingbird'sattraction to the nectar deep inside.

God hears

Whenever we pray in secretLips mute and senses stilledGod hears our unspoken yearningLove answers every call

Seen and heard!

In a window next door to our new place, from the home of neighbors we don't yet know,a light always shines through night, andfog and dark in day as well, sending a sense of comfort out asif to show no one is apart, alone.

In all I write, reflect

Guide Thou my hand, O Lord, today,As I essay a line.

A waking moment

The strength of Love holds youin Her wisdom, like an infant deep in a mother's hug.

Pray. Listen.

The prayerful heart shall hearthe sound of a fist becoming unclenched, the sound of the rain hundreds had prayed forfinally, gratefully, soaking the earth.

On caring for disciples

"I have given you an example, that ye should do as I have done to you.

Forgiveness

Oh, Absalom! Your brother'sevil deed led me to wrath, and you to hate.
Father, teach me to reflect Your mercy, to prayunderstandingly.
