Comfort From The Psalms

Many years ago, when my husband and I were expecting our second child, I prepared for the birth through prayer and often asked a Christian Science practitioner for treatment.
I was at a weekly testimony meeting at my branch Church of Christ, Scientist, recently, where someone gave a testimony that, in part, discussed how God is always taking care of us, His children, even if we are not acknowledging or looking for it right then.
Psalm 121 has been a comfort and a guide to me for a long time.
Few scriptural verses so beautifully enunciate the omnipresence, omniscience, and omnipotence of God as those of Psalm 139.

Sustenance from Psalm 18

It was a Christian Science practitioner who introduced me to Psalm 18.
Every morning I like to read from Psalms.

My ‘go-to’ Bible verse

There is a verse from Psalm 56 that, while consisting of just ten little words, has comforted and healed me throughout my life: “What time I am afraid, I will trust in thee”.

A psalm that hasn’t let me down

A psalm that has been a guidepost to me is <a class="tome-reference" href="https://login.
I’ve been learning more each day that as we gain a better understanding of the spiritual meaning of the Scriptures, more harmony becomes tangible in our lives.
The psalms I love most are difficult to choose.
I was stuck in a dead-end job and could barely make myself get up for work each day.

Beside ‘still waters’

Like so many people growing up in Sunday School, I memorized the <a class="tome-reference" href="https://login.
