Mankind would do well to-day to recognize the truth of Shakespeare's saying that there are more things in heaven and earth than are dreamed of in its philosophy; and so to recognize the grotesque limitations of the human mind, and consequently to cease from setting down as mythical whatever cannot be apprehended by one or other of the five material senses.
That Christian Scientists are regarded by examining physicians as favorable insurance risks is stated by a writer in a recent issue, who says also that Christian Scientists in comparison with others are "ordinarily not so subject to minor ills, and even have a better fighting spirit during a serious illness.
Through
the inspired teachings of Christian Science its beneficiaries are attaining to the intuitive insight which gathers out of the simple Bible stories of the lives of patriarchs and prophets veritable gems of truth, precious instructions pertaining to their own conduct and life work.
Accepting
the truth, as taught in Christian Science, that the Christ-idea is not limited to a material, finite form or to a limited period of time, but continues to exist throughout all eternity, we come at length to consider the activity of this Christ-principle or spiritual understanding.
For
the student of Christian Science who is struggling bravely to discern the allness of God in the midst of aggressive attacks of evil, there is a wonderful lesson in the parable told by Jesus as he sat in the ship talking to the multitude upon the shore.
