My attention has just been drawn to a report in the Friend of recent date of the inaugural address of the president of the Wesleyan Conference, at Port Elizabeth, during the course of which he mentions Christian Science in a manner which is likely to be misleading, and I shall be glad if you will kindly permit me to refer to it in your columns.

many the hours of waiting seem long, wearisome periods of inactivity, mere waste of time, when every one seems rushing on towards some achievement, some goal or object, that appears necessary to still further advancement.

of the first steps the beginner in Christian Science takes is to gain a new and better idea of God, thus replacing the old concept of God as the sender of sickness, sorrow, punishment, poverty, and death.
