In the Christian Science Bible Lesson

Companions

A MOST inspiring story of good companions is to be found in the fifth chapter of Luke's Gospel.
Down the ages, the testimony of material sense has maintained that in the passing of loved ones from our sight we have lost something we held very precious—love and understanding; it argues that we are separated from a companionship or friendship no longer possible.

"Thus saith the Lord"

The student of the prophetic writings of the Old Testament cannot fail to be impressed by a significant phrase which is repeated over and over again by the great spiritual leaders of that period, whom we know as prophets—"Thus saith the Lord;" while, in addition, we read that "The word of the Lord came unto Jeremiah".
In the year 1866 Mary Baker Eddy discovered Christian Science, and afterwards wrote and published her textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures.

"Doers of the word"

In his thanksgiving and prayer, David said to the people, "Who then is willing to consecrate his service this day unto the Lord?

"The entireness of God, good"

A CHRISTIAN SCIENTIST opened her door in response to a caller who was canvassing the city in order to secure information regarding church attendance.
Should a student of Christian Science ever be tempted to believe that he has progressed to the point where he can carry on his work as a follower of Christ Jesus by what he may regard as mentally dwelling in the absolute without specifically dealing with error, he should then pray for humility, and make a thorough study of our textbooks, the Bible and "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," and other writings by Mary Baker Eddy.
