An author who prayed through a rocky relationship with her boyfriend shares her insights on what she learned and on how to pray more effectively about relationships, romantic and otherwise.
After a few problems with friends, this author was dreading going back to school. But one simple message from God changed her perspective—and her friendships.

It’s natural to pray

The editorial on the facing page reminded me of how prayer has been an integral part of my life since I was a child.

Why prayer appeals to Americans

For more than six decades, many Americans have participated in National Prayer Day, an event designated by law to fall on the first Thursday in May.

It was gone!

One day at school, I was writing, and I felt something on my hand.
I was at a weekly testimony meeting at my branch Church of Christ, Scientist, recently, where someone gave a testimony that, in part, discussed how God is always taking care of us, His children, even if we are not acknowledging or looking for it right then.
Last fall, out-of-control wildfires throughout California brought firefighters from as far away as Australia and occupied the news for months.

Shake off the dust!

What did I need to free myself from? Dust—the belief that I am material rather than spiritual.
Solutions come as we gain a clear sense of the all-knowing Mind and listen for the spiritual ideas Mind is unfolding.
Often the outcome from prayer doesn’t look like the hoped-for answer, yet nevertheless proves to meet the need perfectly.
