Out
of the depth of his experience did the Psalmist speak when he said: "Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.
How
quickly discouragement is banished and hope and courage are renewed when one awakens to the fact that success in any right endeavor is inevitable! Failure of some cherished plan need not be cause for despair, discouragement, or even annoyance, for it may well indicate the need of purifying the motive and methods employed to accomplish the desired end.
In
these troubled days many hearts go out in loving gratitude to the brave men and women who are prisoners—some in concentration camps, some in alien ships, others in different kinds of prisons in foreign countries.
