In the Christian Science Bible Lesson

Why the Christian Scientist prays

The Christian Scientist prays to know and understand God.
When we invite a guest to our home, we do all we can to care for him or her in the most loving way.
In the practice of Christian Science, the concepts of "witness," "evidence," "plea," and "law" translate into very important elements of any healing.

Our role in prayer

To a certain extent, praying might be likened to reading.
