See through to a spiritual universe
The mist swirled and broke apart, then gathered thinly over the harbor. The masts of a ship and the dark outline of the shore were still visible. It was possible to see through the fog enough to know that the entire harbor—every island, every ship—was still there.
It is easy to see through a light fog to what is actually there, when you already know what is present. Christian Science helps us see through the fog—even the thick fog—of the material senses to God's spiritual universe, which is the reality.
On a recent glorious day in New England, the leaves fluttered and sparkled in the sun. The sky blazed a brilliant blue. Our spirits soared. Perhaps on such a day in Israel the prophet wrote, "Ye shall go out with joy, and be led forth with peace: the mountains and the hills shall break forth before you into singing, and all the trees of the field shall clap their hands." Isa. 55:12.
