Christian Science does not teach that sin, sickness, and death are not a part of the experience of this mortal existence, and no one knows better than a Christian Scientist how real pain and suffering seem to the one afficted.
There is no gainsaying the fact that sin claims to exert an influence over mortals.
With all other Christian churches, Christian Science teaches that God is the only creator, absolute good, infinite, omnipotent, and eternal.

A large percentage of the membership of the Christian Science church were formerly consistent working members in the various orthodox churches, and it is a fair assumption to say that if these churches had ministered to the needs of these people they would not have become afflicted with a "waning faith" which would lead them into the acceptance of what the good doctor is pleased to term a "half-truth.
The religious body to which our clerical critic belongs has had every opportunity of giving the people a religion capable of appealing more strongly to their spiritual needs, and open to a higher degree of proof than Christian Science.

We often hear it said by Christian Scientists that they never really appreciated the Bible until they began to understand Christian Science.

DOUBT DISPLACED

AT the time when the rulers were accusing Christ Jesus of unlawful practices, and scheming to put him out of the way, John the Baptist, who had been cast into prison by Herod, heard of the wonderful works wrought by Jesus and which had so roused the wrath and jealousy of the rulers, and he sent messengers to inquire if he were really the Messiah, or whether they should look for another.
