In the report of a sermon by an evangelist is found a reference to Christian Science which misrepresents its teachings regarding the nature of sin, and by implication imputes to it a method of dealing with sin which is entirely foreign to it.

A clergyman in his farewell sermon is reported as declaring that "that which is neither Christian nor scientific ought not to be encouraged, even though it be called Christian Science.
In a recent editorial entitled "To Charm Business," the reference to Christian Science may have led some readers to believe that this Science is a mortally mental method by which one may get what he wants, no matter how selfish that want may be.
In a criticism of Christian Science which appeared in a recent issue, the statement was made that Christian Scientists "have substituted a human philosophy for religion,—a philosophy which is cold, without soul or heart-throb.
