Neither left-wing nor right-wing, but whole
Although individuals may be divided in their points of view, we can pray to see a divine unity expressed.
If you look at a bird, you don’t see a bird with a left wing or a right wing. You see the whole bird. So it is with spiritual man. Division, separation, and discord can be overcome by seeing neither left, right, nor center, but the whole man of God’s creating.
A maelstrom appears to exist in the mental atmosphere of our country and the world, stemming from mortal minds everywhere emitting anger, strife, and frustration. This false belief would argue that political division, victimhood, and marginalization are rife and can supplant our innate unity and brotherly love.
Thank goodness this can be healed! Divine peace and harmony are the reality of the one Mind, God, and His spiritual idea, man—the true identity of each one of us. The political body is just as receptive to the healing influence of Christ, Truth, as the human body is. As stated in the Christian Science textbook, Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, thought governs the body, not the other way around. The textbook says: “A material body only expresses a material and mortal mind. A mortal man possesses this body, and he makes it harmonious or discordant according to the images of thought impressed upon it” (Mary Baker Eddy, p. 208).
