Effects of motorcycle accident nullified

One afternoon, I was traveling very fast on my motorcycle on the freeway with a sleeping bag strapped on the back of the bike. Suddenly, my rear wheel locked up (the sleeping bag had gotten caught in the wheel), and the motorcycle started fishtailing as it swerved into the left lane. My bike fell to the ground, and I slid off the road and onto the shoulder. The motorcycle was damaged beyond repair.

Two cars stopped, and the occupants called an ambulance and kindly looked after me until help arrived. I was fully conscious the entire time, and when the police and ambulance arrived, I answered questions from the police, and then the ambulance took me to a trauma center. The paramedics in the ambulance and the nurses at the trauma center wished to apply intravenous fluids, but I declined. X-rays were taken and showed that nothing was broken.

When the doctor came in to check on me, I mentioned that I was a Christian Scientist and didn’t want any medical treatment. He was very kind and understanding, oversaw appropriate bandaging, and released me. My wife came to take me home, and I remained home for two days as we prayed together.
