Finding peace frees from pain
I am grateful for a wonderful healing just over a year ago that brought me complete freedom from a debilitating shoulder condition.
After returning from a vacation in Europe that involved a strenuous kayaking trip, I began experiencing intense pain in my left shoulder. This made it difficult to engage in activities such as throwing or swimming, or even to raise my arm above my head. It also made it challenging to sleep.
While I did pray about the situation, I largely dismissed it as no big deal, thinking it would eventually go away. As the pain continued, however, my concern grew. I began to feel despondent and isolated. As an active person, I was used to playing pickleball and basketball and volunteering at a youth center. I was frustrated, especially because coworkers, noticing my discomfort, offered suggestions regarding what might be wrong.
