Experiencing divine law in action
One of the core teachings of Christian Science is that Christ Jesus didn’t rely on personal ability but on eternal spiritual law to bring about his transformative healings. Further, his healings demonstrated that this divine law supersedes all material beliefs and supposed laws. This spiritual law is universal and therefore available to everyone at any time.
Material laws don’t actually have any power to oppose supreme, spiritual law. So God’s rule of harmony always prevails, correcting any apparent discord with good.
Here’s an example. A few years ago, our garbage disposal was leaking in the cupboard under the kitchen sink. Although my husband generally handles home fix-it projects, he asked me to help because I fit easily under the sink. As I tightened a loose bolt, the wrench fell on my upturned face. After a yelp of surprise, I declared silently, “I’m innocent.” I knew that I was a child of God and that I couldn’t suffer while doing good. The pain and shock ceased instantly. The bleeding also stopped, and a cut on my face soon healed without a scar.
