Freed of pain and injury after a fall
A while ago, after I had carried something through a door, as I stepped back up, my foot got caught. I was suddenly falling through the air. I landed on my right side, and my head crashed onto the ceramic tiles in the entryway. Some of my teeth felt loose, and the side of my face was hurting.
I called out to my husband to help me up, but he wasn’t within earshot. I eventually managed to get up, and he soon appeared from upstairs.
He helped me into a chair, as I was feeling rather shocked. Although not a Christian Scientist himself, he began gently assuring me that I was fine and saying things to me that are compatible with Christian Science. So I accepted what he was saying as spiritual truth—that I could never fall from God’s omnipotent, loving care. It occurred to me that if that was true, then my face must be untouched and free from pain. Once I accepted this, the pain stopped.
