Touching the heart of humanity
All who yearn to alleviate suffering can rest assured that divine Love will bring opportunities to fulfill this Christian duty.
Could anything be more uplifting and wonderful than sharing the spiritual truths that have healed and blessed us in our practice of Christian Science?
Over the years, I have had various opportunities in my daily interactions to give as I have been given. For instance, one August, I began working at a well-known bakery in the city where I lived. As the busy holiday season approached, I became aware of conditions among our customers and in the community that were crying out for healing. Along with a deep compassion for our customers came an awareness of the privilege and responsibility I had as a Christian Scientist to offer comfort where I could.
One day close to Christmas, I waited on a woman wearing a beautiful red coat and a lovely accent scarf. She had an apparent affliction in one eye, and as I was preparing and boxing her items, I reached out to God, asking how I could help.
