Support from church members brings healing
Originally published in Spanish
I have been a member of First Church of Christ, Scientist, Bogotá, for several years. I first learned about Christian Science thanks to a friend who is a member of the church. Becoming acquainted with Christian Science has been of great value to me, and throughout this time I have had many demonstrations of God’s love.
One happened to me a few months ago when I was working from home. I started experiencing severe pain in my stomach, and it lasted almost two days. I started out with prayer, but I was overwhelmed and distressed because of the pain, and I couldn’t seem to focus my thoughts to pray.
I have a small baby, and my mother helps me take care of him. When my mother and my husband, who are not Christian Scientists, saw me looking really bad, they urged me to go to the doctor. To them it seemed I was not doing anything to feel better.
