Ancient and Modern Necromancy, alias Mesmerism and Hypnotism, Denounced

Zechariah 13:2

I will cut off the names of the idols out of the land, and they shall no more be remembered.

Zechariah’s prophetic work in Jerusalem lasted about two years during the reign of King Darius of Persia (521–486 BC ). While many Jews had returned from captivity in Babylonia, the walls and Temple in Jerusalem lay in ruins. His primary message was one of exhortation to turn from pagan idolatry and recommit to the one God. Here he predicts a total elimination of idol worship, so that even the memory of these false gods will be erased.
