Knee injury healed
Last spring when I was skiing, I fell with both knees twisted and heard popping sounds as it happened. Initially I exclaimed to my husband that I was hurt and needed help, but then I recalled what Christian Science teaches about reversing such fears.
“Stand porter at the door of thought,” Mary Baker Eddy instructs in Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures. “Admitting only such conclusions as you wish realized in bodily results, you will control yourself harmoniously” (p. 392).
The conclusion that I affirmed was the truth that as God’s child I am always perfect and whole; therefore, the claim that I could be hurt was not a fact but a suggestion. I quickly rejected that suggestion and shouted back across the ski hill to my husband, “Never mind; I’m fine. I just remembered that I’m spiritual, God’s reflection, and can’t be injured.”
