A provable Science
My husband and I have an outdoor griddle that gets extremely hot. One day, we were hosting a picnic, and I was standing at the griddle. As I was placing a piece of cheese on a burger, I felt my fingertip touch the hot grease. I jumped at the pain, and the person next to me asked if I had burned my finger.
Since I was feeling hurried by the cooking process, I simply said that I was fine and continued on without giving the issue any prayerful attention. The pain continued for a while, and the evidence of a burn lingered for a couple of weeks, until it finally faded away.
Interestingly, something similar happened to me another time, but I took a decidedly different approach—with much better results!
