Skiing injury healed
In January 2023 I joined friends for a ski trip in New Hampshire. I had never been skiing before and was eager to try it. I started by learning to ski down easier hills then moved on to more challenging slopes with my friends. One of those slopes was icy, and I took a spill. As I began to stand back up, I heard a loud “pop” and was unable to put any weight on one knee.
I was scared. How was I supposed to get down the mountain? I decided right then that I would rely on God wholeheartedly. I put my ski back on, affirming that God was right there with me every step of the way. I felt so comforted. There was still some icy and steep terrain to navigate, but I knew I was safe, wrapped in the arms of God, divine Love.
My friends and I smoothly made it down to the bottom. When concern set in that this was a serious injury, a still, small voice in my thought reminded me, “What cannot God do?” (Mary Baker Eddy, Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, p. 135). I hadn’t felt this close to Him in a long time. As I walked back to the car, I truly felt that my best friend—God—was right there with me. The fear was gone, and it never returned.
