A lifetime of blessings from Christian Science
I have been a Christian Scientist my whole life and am now in what people would call my advanced years. While I’ve had challenges, I’ve been grateful to have always found the answers I needed to meet them. I’ve also found a simplicity in living by following the messages that come to us from God—not to be afraid, not to focus on a problem as if it were real, and not to see spiritual healing as being difficult to experience, but simply to follow God’s direction.
The biblical prophet Isaiah reminds us: “The Lord is a God of judgment: blessed are all they that wait for him. . . . He will be very gracious unto thee at the voice of thy cry; when he shall hear it, he will answer thee. . . . And thine ears shall hear a word behind thee, saying, This is the way, walk ye in it, when ye turn to the right hand, and when ye turn to the left” (Isaiah 30:18, 19, 21).
My mother was very firm in her conviction that Christian Science was the way to live; if we had a problem, that is what we turned to, and it consistently worked. When I was in high school, her example inspired me to study Christian Science. At that time, having seen many healings, my father embraced Christian Science, as well, and was healed of smoking.
