But then . . .
Now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face:
now I know in part; but then
shall I know even as also I am known.
—I Corinthians 13:12 (emphasis added)
My first waking thought arrives
. . . gently stirring
in the stillness.
I’m feeling immeasurably small,
listening in peace,
waiting to hear even a tiny idea.
I’m adoring God,
and as my smile dawns,
these words come:
“God is my life.”
Grateful tears appear;
I am not alone.
I am beyond the glass.
I am known.
I am loved.
God is my life.
The words are mine!
Face to face, in His likeness,
. . . I awake.
