What unifies our world?
I wonder what it would have been like to observe Jesus in his travels, watching his approach to interacting with others. He may not have been on the same page with the individuals he met. Yet, from what we read in the Bible, there is no doubt that he consistently beheld God’s love for everyone, everywhere.
Today, we may encounter people who are carrying forward Jesus’ example—his practice of unreservedly loving everyone—no matter what is thrown their way. This is a path on which our world can be unified and experience global progress much more quickly. But how can we love everyone as Jesus did when there seems to be so much hatred and strife?
By the brilliance of his example, and through his healing works, Jesus proved that the true nature of each of us as the creation, the offspring, of divine Love, God, is not only spiritual and perfect but both lovable and loving. Why, then, do conflict and division seem so much a part of our world?
