Let it rather be healed
If on life’s path
a battle brews,
turn not aside
to enter into willful fight,
content to work with human might.
“Let it rather be healed.” Hebrews 12:13
And if a cloud of broken dreams
obscures your joy,
don’t close your eyes
or shrink away,
ignoring evil’s subtle ways.
“Let it rather be healed.”
Or if inclined
to nod the head
and walk with error hand in hand,
agreeing to let evil stand,
do not be fooled.
“Let it rather be healed.”
For Christ demands
that every thought be lifted up,
not turned aside,
nor oft ignored,
nor blindly held,
but viewed aright.
Now let the light
of Christ so shine
with cleansing ray,
revealing good where evil lurked,
confirming right where wrong seemed real,
that all may be healed.
