Bible inspiration and walking “on dry ground”
God’s guidance gives us sure footing.
Reading the Bible is so healing! Many of the stories in it give us guidance and inspire us to love God more, help each other, spiritualize our thinking, and live better lives.
In the second book of the Bible, Exodus, we have the story of God dividing the waters and Moses leading the Israelites through the Red Sea on dry ground (see Exodus 14:21, 22). I had a beautiful healing by praying with this idea. As I thought about how everyone crossed on dry ground, I had a huge moment of feeling God’s all-embracing, unconditional love. Not only was I physically healed but my thought was uplifted in a way that has benefited my life ever since.
During this time, there was a lot going on. Someone in our family needed care, and we were arranging to move her closer to us; my public Christian Science healing practice was very busy; my husband’s business was having challenges; our children were having struggles at school and elsewhere; and another family member was also needing me more than usual.
