Persistent vertigo healed

Several years ago, shortly after Thanksgiving, I suddenly began dealing with symptoms of vertigo that continued day after day. I had to sit perfectly still or everything would spin. As a busy CEO, I found this very disruptive to my work. 

I was praying and also asked for prayer from various Christian Science practitioners at different times. I expected a quick healing, but it didn’t come. I was praying from every angle I could think of, which was probably part of the problem. I was mesmerized by the problem, thinking I had to fix something rather than let the perfection of God’s being and how it is expressed in me be revealed and accepted into my consciousness. 

During this holiday time, I attended a Christian Science lecture about the meaning of the Christ. I am a lifelong Christian Scientist, but did I really understand exactly what the Christ is? I turned to the Bible and to the Christian Science textbook, Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by the Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science, Mary Baker Eddy, and spent time reading everything she had written about the Christ and the demonstration of our Christlike, spiritual identity. A helpful passage from Science and Health states that Jesus “was to prove that the Christ is not subject to material conditions, but is above the reach of human wrath, and is able, through Truth, Life, and Love, to triumph over sin, sickness, death, and the grave” (p. 49).
