Follow me!

A shepherd’s voice, o’er barren land, rings out:
“Follow me!”
  and trusting sheep
  obey this call
  and find their way
  to verdant fields.

Our Master, walking bustling shores, exhorted,
  “Follow me!”
  and fishers stopped
  and left their nets
  for purpose new.

The risen Christ, with patient grace, instructed,
  “Follow me!”
  and humbled men
  committed to
  God’s holy work.

We hear today Truth’s constant call, demanding,
  “Follow me!”
  and come to know
  Love’s tender care
  and saving grace
  and healing power.
