Sports-related elbow pain healed
I love to play golf. Over a year ago a pain developed in my elbow. Even gripping the golf club was painful. I avoided playing with friends, and my game deteriorated. Over the next several months I played only a few times. I prayed as I had been taught in Christian Science, knowing that man’s real identity is not material but spiritual. But at the same time, I ruminated over what could be the cause of this problem. And while I looked for a cause, the pain remained unabated, unhealed.
Then one day as I was studying Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy, I came across this statement: “The determination to hold Spirit in the grasp of matter is the persecutor of Truth and Love” (p. 28).
This sentence alerted me to several things:
