Injured foot healed
A few years ago, I was looking forward to a trip out to an island in Lake Michigan for a fun day of hiking and exploring with family and friends. While waiting to board the ferry, I took a misstep off a curb and fell. My foot was injured, making it difficult and painful to walk. On the ninety-minute boat ride to the island, I had time to quietly turn to God in prayer for a clearer understanding of myself as made in His image and likeness (see Genesis 1:26, 27), upright and unfallen.
As we docked at the island, I was unsure how I could possibly participate in the day’s activities, which would include miles of walking across the island and back. But I decided to go forward, taking a radical stand for the truth of my immediate perfection as God’s child—as divine Spirit’s spiritual idea. The outing had been planned for weeks, and I did not want to cast a shadow on it.
After a break for lunch, I could not walk without a great deal of discomfort, and the foot was very swollen and discolored. Something within the foot seemed to be out of place. But because my family has experienced multiple healings of various illnesses and injuries through prayer alone, I continued to turn confidently to God in prayer for help with this situation.
