Wound on hand healed

While I was opening a hard molded-plastic package, my hand slipped, and the point of the scissors I was using went into my other hand with some force. I saw that I needed to address the situation immediately in prayer.

Earlier I had been thinking deeply about the nature of God, good, and I found it comforting and strengthening to recall these ideas. I wrapped the hand with a towel and prayerfully reached out to God, divine Mind, to feed my thought with spiritual truths so as to leave no room for fear to creep in.

What first came to mind was the word Truth. I reasoned, “There is no truth in nerve, and no nerve in Truth, God. That’s the reality of divine Truth.” This was a spontaneous adaptation of a passage in Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy: “There is no pain in Truth, and no truth in pain; no nerve in Mind, and no mind in nerve; no matter in Mind, and no mind in matter; no matter in Life, and no life in matter; no matter in good, and no good in matter” (p. 113).
