Injured foot healed
One morning as I was rushing about the house, I whacked the top of my foot against a heavy foot rail at our kitchen breakfast bar. The pain was intense, but I needed to get to work, so I just kept going.
All that day I worked in high-heeled shoes. When I stood up from my desk to leave for the day, I found I couldn’t put any weight at all on that foot. I was grateful that I was the last to leave so no one would see me hobbling across the parking lot wearing only one shoe and trying to balance on the back of my bare left heel.
I prayed a little that evening, but without concerted attention. The next morning I still couldn’t walk on the foot, so I borrowed some crutches from a friend and went off to work. A coworker commented on the swelling of the foot (although I had covered it with a crew sock), and expressed the thought that I should have it examined by a doctor. I assured her I was taking care of it.
