Healed of debilitating menstrual cramps
For years I experienced severe discomfort from monthly menstrual cramps. At school I usually received the annual award for perfect attendance, and I loved school and never wanted to miss a class. However, the pain was so debilitating at times that I had to go home on several occasions.
At the onset of the discomfort I was often in bed, if lying down was at all possible, alternating between toughing it out and praying about the pain. I had been attending a Christian Science Sunday School since I was a preschooler and had had several impressive physical healings as a result of my parents’ prayers, but by the time these painful episodes started I was old enough to know how to pray. And I did, as best I knew how. I loved God and understood God as the healer of every trouble; I had no desire to turn anywhere else for healing.
Since I tended to downplay my difficulties, my parents may not have known the full extent of this particular physical challenge, but I could always count on their prayerful support and words of encouragement. Through the years I also received the wonderful help of Christian Science practitioners, who saw that my greatest need was for spiritual growth and would assure me that healing was possible.
