Inflammation and rash healed
In early 2017, an alarming rash appeared on my stomach and arms. I began to pray about it off and on, but I think I was buying into the suggestion that if I just ignored the problem, it would go away. I didn’t see much improvement until a friend suggested reading a passage in Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy that includes a treatment for inflammation. It starts out: “Matter cannot be inflamed. Inflammation is fear, an excited state of mortals which is not normal” (pp. 414–415).
This passage woke me up and reminded me that disease is not normal, and that it is something that we can and should protest against. It also helped me realize that the disease was only a false mental belief manifest as a physical problem. The passage continues: “Immortal Mind is the only cause; therefore disease is neither a cause nor an effect. Mind in every case is the eternal God, good. Sin, disease, and death have no foundations in Truth.”
