You matter to God

You matter! Not only do you matter, but you matter to the most important force in the universe: You matter to God.

This was a “wow” revelation to a woman who had been born into a family that didn’t want her. Her mother was mentally ill and had tricked a man (who didn’t want children) into getting her pregnant, then tried to kill the child. The child survived but spent much of her life thinking she shouldn’t be here, that she wasn’t wanted.

When a Christian Scientist told this now-grown woman that she mattered to God, the potency of this truth sent the first crack through the shell of her self-loathing, eventually setting her free from the prison of believing she was disposable, unwanted, unloved.
