No more fear
For many years I was a fearful person. Many fearful thoughts would come into my mind related to the present and future. Traveling, for example, was very difficult because I was always afraid of something going wrong; whenever I traveled I had to be with someone, because I was too fearful to be alone. Doctors declared me a sufferer of depression. I was on allopathic medicine for a long time, and I took sleeping pills daily.
After completing my graduation from university, I moved a few hours away from my village to pursue my postgraduate studies. I stayed in a guest house for girls, and my roommate would often share her life experience with me. She was a student of Christian Science, and she would share with me the many ways her life had been blessed by Christian Science. I always found her a satisfied and happy person.
Initially I found the ideas my roommate shared too radical to accept. But as time went on, my mental anguish continued, and two years after we met I decided to join her in attending Wednesday testimony meetings and Sunday services at a Christian Science Society. I even attended a Christian Science lecture entitled “Health—a birthright of each one of us” organized by the Christian Science Society in Chandigarh.
