Teenager protected in car accident
There is no doubt in my mind that the truth spoken in services held in Churches of Christ, Scientist, is very powerful.
In May 2018, while I was serving as First Reader and conducting an evening service in my branch church, my husband received news from our nineteen-year-old son, David, that he had fallen asleep at the wheel while driving home from college in another state. He woke up as his car was airborne, and just before it hit a concrete embankment in a roadside park.
He was calling to tell us he was OK. Fire department officials who had been behind him on the road saw what happened and immediately stopped to offer assistance. Another driver also stopped, and a state trooper soon arrived. All helped him move his many belongings into their vehicles, and a tow truck towed away his car. These individuals waited with him for two hours until his dad got there.
