Healed of injuries after a fall
Many years ago, my husband, Tom, was working on a ladder on a construction site. A rung broke and he fell about 12 feet. The men he worked with wanted to take him to the hospital. Although he wasn’t a practicing Christian Scientist at the time, he knew he could rely on Christian Science for healing and asked to be taken home. His coworkers were able to get him home and to lay him on our bed.
I had been at home, reading the weekly Christian Science Bible Lesson, as well as the daily religious article in The Christian Science Monitor about how we are all under God’s care and can never “fall” out of this protection. When the call came about the accident, I felt calm because of the prayerful study I had been doing. Immediately, I began to affirm that he could not be fallen or hurt, because he could never leave God’s divine protection.
We remembered that he had taken another fall a few years back, before either of us became interested in Christian Science. He had been working on another construction site, where he fell backward from the second story of the building. After being hospitalized, he had been fitted for a steel brace for his back, which he had continued to wear.
