Freed from painful health challenge
I have been blessed with excellent health all of my life, and I have experienced a lot of spiritual growth and relied on Christian Science whenever I have been in need of healing. I have not had to deal with any serious health challenge until last year.
Rather suddenly I found I was unable to physically care for myself. It seemed best to go to my daughter’s home, and she urged me to seek medical help. For a short time I went along with her wishes and was prescribed various medications.
We read on page 484 of Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy, “Certain results, supposed to proceed from drugs, are really caused by the faith in them which the false human consciousness is educated to feel.” Well, I had no faith in the drugs I was being given, so needless to say, they were not bringing about the desired results. Before long I discontinued all medications, as well as physical therapy and other medical care.
