Sudden inability to move healed
The more I learn about God through Christian Science, the more I experience the feeling of being cradled in our Father-Mother God’s loving embrace. Earlier this year I felt the power of this love when I experienced a quick healing.
As another busy week at work ended, I was looking forward to sleeping in on Saturday morning, which I rarely do. Sometime in the night I got up and then returned to bed and went back to sleep. The next time I woke up, around my usual time, I couldn’t move and was totally incapacitated. I couldn’t even lift my head to see what time it was.
I didn’t have my cellphone in my room and I had no landline, so I was unable to call a Christian Science practitioner. I also couldn’t reach for my Bible or my copy of Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, by Mary Baker Eddy, which had been so helpful to me in past healings, and I lived alone. And yet, as I lay there quietly and very still, I really didn’t have any sense of fear about the situation. I was very blessed to have attended a Christian Science Sunday School growing up and had experienced many healings. I had taken Primary class instruction in Christian Science when the time and the teacher were right. So I had learned that what I did have was God, right there and right then—no waiting!
