Prayer heals broken collarbone

This is adapted from a testimony originally posted during The Mother Church’s online Wednesday testimony meeting.

When our second daughter was six years old, she fell down onto some concrete stones, a fall of about six feet. I was preparing supper when I heard her cry. I rushed down to find her and gently picked her up and carried her to the lounge, where I put her on the sofa. Together we sang Mary Baker Eddy’s hymns until she fell asleep. Then I carried on with making supper, lifting my thoughts to God and rejoicing in her perfection and complete wholeness as a child of God. I had a wonderful time praying!

When supper was ready, I called our children to the table, and this daughter came too. Though she wasn’t in pain, she needed me to cut up her food, and she ate well.

The next day it was evident that she was not playing as freely as usual. My father-in-law, with whom we were staying for the summer, expressed concern that she was favoring her arm. Both my husband and I prayed diligently about this. I strove to see her perfection as a child of God and held tightly to the spiritual fact of her unbroken relationship to her divine Father-Mother. I rejoiced that none of God’s ideas could fall out of His loving care.
