Severe sunburn healed
A little while ago, I was struggling with a physical problem. I had been out in the sun the weekend before and thought my hat was providing sufficient coverage, but my lips became quite burned. I was addressing it with Christian Science treatment, but the pain had persisted for several days and the physical situation seemed to be getting worse.
Throughout my life I have seen that we can lean on God for all our needs, that our identity as His protected and loved creation is not based on chance. But I was getting concerned. Then, one night, a multi-million-dollar lottery payout to a couple made the news, and my first thought was that with that kind of luck and money, I could do and give a lot that I wasn’t able to now.
This reaction stopped me short. I realized that the suggestion that God is unable to provide all that we need had crept into my consciousness. And that claim needed correction.
