Spiritual growth brings healing
“Deity was satisfied with His work. How could He be otherwise, since the spiritual creation was the outgrowth, the emanation, of His infinite self-containment and immortal wisdom?” (Mary Baker Eddy, Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, p. 519). This statement from the Christian Science textbook is now my new best friend.
Early last summer I fell in the street of my apartment complex and hit my head. It occurred to me that I might have also bruised some ribs because of the pain that followed. In addition, I had a deep chest cough that had gone on for several weeks and was worrisome to my family.
For the next three weeks, in discomfort, I sat upright in bed or in a chair night and day. The Christian Science Bible Lessons, as well as the articles and testimonies of healing I read on jsh-online.com, became my companions. They provided spiritual inspiration and encouragement as I prayed for myself.
