Healed of debilitating ear pain
This healing took place one year when I was in Paris to attend my yearly Christian Science association meeting. It was a very uplifting day, hearing the spiritual message given from our teacher, and I enjoyed seeing old friends, as well. Afterward, I went back to a friend’s apartment and stayed two more weeks there. We had fun going around Paris together.
Two days before my return to Lisbon, Portugal, where I was living at the time, I started feeling pain in my ear. The pain became so severe that night that I couldn’t sleep, nor could I eat the next day. I was unable to reach a Christian Science practitioner at that time to take my case, so I realized I needed to pray for myself.
In the Bible, Christ Jesus said this to us: “And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free” (John 8:32). Since I could not focus on reading because of the severe pain, I repeated the truths I knew by heart, such as Psalms 23 and 91, “the scientific statement of being” (Mary Baker Eddy, Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, p. 468), and others in the Bible and Science and Health.
